Filmmaking

Like so many professionals in the performing arts, most of my jobs were put on hold in March of 2020. Due to the shutdown, I pivoted to work on many different hybrid theatre/film productions with folks of different backgrounds including film/TV, podcasting, songwriting, comedy, and more. Those experiences opened my eyes to the adaptability of theatre-makers and how I may be successful in transitioning between the two worlds.

I have since pursued filmmaking further and was fortunate enough to spend a week at the London Film Academy receiving a certification in directing. During that week, I had the opportunity to direct my own short film, as well as serve as the 1st AD on another.

I was then hired to direct the film shoot of a staged musical called The Monster Who Ate My Peas. In preparation for the shoot, I created storyboards, shot lists, and a script to use in directing the 4 cameras live. I worked closely with the stage director and the DOP to ensure that our visions for the piece were achieved.

Film and television is a new landscape for me and I am eager to expand my skills further! Please take a look at my showreel below and get in touch if you’d like to hear more about my filmmaking experience.
